On the 6th of April 2021, Mayo Co Co erected signage at the N5 junction stating their intention to extinguish the right of way. All locals from all the surrounding villages are against this.

Here they come again this year with the same reason. The road is being used by even more people in the area now and still no accidents. It is a through road from Meelick for people going to work in Kiltimagh, Castlebar, Charlestown and beyond and saves people an unnecessary journey through the town.

In 2011 Mayo County Council tried the same thing to divide our communities. They did not succeed then, they will not succeed now.
